The June Fete Village Fair and Horse & Pony Show, which benefits Abington Memorial Hospital, is celebrating fifty three years at its present location at Edgehill and Huntingdon Roads in Huntingdon Valley. The first fair was held in 1914 at the home of Mrs. George Elkins in Latham Park, and later events were held at "Lindenhurst," the John Wanamaker Estate, "Ashbourne Hall," the William Elkins Estate, and "Crosswicks," the Clement Newbold Estate. In 1957, the Rev. Theodore Pitcairn made a generous donation of land, 41 acres, and The June Fete moved to its permanent home.

The June Fete Village Fair and Horse & Pony Show are spearheaded by The Women's Board which consists of fifty active members and is supported by 12 auxiliaries with 630 members. These 630 members have varied interests and backgrounds yet share a common goal of ensuring that Abington Memorial Hospital continues to grow, flourish and offer outstanding patient care.

Through their efforts, the Women's Board and the Auxilians raised $700,000 in 2009 and made it possible to contribute to AMH in several ways. Proceeds from The June Fete will benefit the hospital by supporting medical education, nursing scholarships, community programs, building expansion, equipment purchases, patients with special needs, and maternity and pediatric care.

Abington Memorial Hospital (AMH) is a 665-bed, regional referral center and teaching hospital, which has been providing comprehensive, high-quality services for people in Montgomery, Bucks, and Philadelphia counties for more than 90 years. The hospital's medical staff consists of over 900 physicians, including primary care, medical and surgical specialists. More than 1,100 volunteers give their time and talents to support this not-for-profit hospital, and AMH provides more than $45 million in free care to our community each year.
